Immunizations: The Health Office is constantly updating student records to ensure that all students are adequately immunized according to NH state law. The main requirement during the middle school years is the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) booster that is necessary before a student enters the 7th grade. When your child receives an immunization at a physician’s visit, please provide documentation to the school nurse.
Physical Examinations: When your child receives their yearly physical, please provide a copy for the health office to include in your child’s medical file here at school. This keeps us current with any health issues that may exist and provides the necessary documentation should your child choose to try out for a sports team. This documentation means a physician signed physical exam report, not the ‘After Visit Summary’ that you can print from your portal.
Allergy Awareness: We are a Food Allergy Aware School. We promote knowledge, understanding and support of food allergy issues. The most common food allergies are allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, dairy, eggs, and gluten. Anaphylaxis is a sudden, severe, allergic reaction that involves various systems of the body simultaneously. Common symptoms are: tingling, swelling or itching in mouth or throat, hives, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, vomiting, cramps, and stomach pain. This would be a medical emergency requiring immediate action with administering an Epi-pen and initiating EMS.
